Flaming Gorge 2010

Whitney, Tula, Brinley and Danielle were actually at Flaming Gorge with us - unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of them before they had to go home early as Whitney and Brinley got the flu. But here are a few pictures from the last half of the trip.
Quinton and I at the bottom of the dam.

Of course, the boys have to go fishing.
Quinton seemed to catch a fish every time he cast his line.
He drinks more soda at Flaming Gorge than he does the whole year!

Swimming in the lake seems to always be great entertainment. Whether off the boat or off the cliffs, there is a lot of time spent in the water.

Whitney was taking pictures in this mirror and inspired Quinton to also take a few.

We do see quite a bit of wildlife throughout the week,
here are a few pic's from off the boat.

50 years ago - I was born!

This summer I have experienced many different emotions as I turned 50 years old. It has been a great time of reflection - and I decided that I will take the liberty to spend the whole year of being 50 - to actually absorb or let it become what I want it to be and influence me the way I would like it to! I believe that in 50 years a person learns quite a bit about life (although there will be many years to continue learning). But at this time in my life I have been reflecting on what have I been doing with the knowledge I have gained throughout the years. I made a list of "fifty things I learned in fifty years". As I contemplated the many truths I've learned, I realized that there are many more than fifty very important things in life I have come to realize. But the big question is "what am I doing about the knowledge I've gained"? Do I practice all that I know to be true? Perhaps the rest of my life should be spent in trying to incorporate all that I believe in!

There were many kind friends and family who wished me well on my birthday. My mom and sisters wanted to plan something fun - which wasn't necessary- but it did make me think of what I really did want to do. So in the morning I did Stake Baptisms and then I met Terri for a session in the Salt Lake Temple. Afterwards she and I ate lunch at the Skyroom in the Joseph Smith Memorial Building - thanks Terri. We then went and met mom, Kari Ann, Whitney, Brinley, Lexi, Cortney and Taylor in Park City where we shopped and stayed the night. The next day we drove to Mirror Lake - which happened to be snowed in - oops! Here are a few pic's from that day.

Quinton

Quinton has attended 3-4 football camps this Spring/Summer and has loved them!

Quint played on the Dodgers again this year. He was invited to play on the Reds team for the playoffs, his friend Alrech was on that team.

Quint was on the school track team this Spring and did very well in the multi-school track meet. He won first in two events and second in the third event. He smoked everyone on the 400meter - wow he was so far ahead it was amazing - he certainly didn't get that from me! His two buddies came in 2nd and 3rd.

Well - he also won the gold metal in the Stake Olympics! He is quite the little athlete.

Miss Kylie Harper, Quinton's fourth grade teacher - she was very nice.

I am sad that I didn't get more pictures in St. George. But Jamie, Quinton, Chris and I stayed awhile longer and went to the sand dunes - I'm glad we have these!
